The usual fixes create new problems. Installing your applications on personal computers puts company data on devices you do not control. Shipping laptops to every contractor costs money and time for a few months of work. A VPN into the office server is slow, fragile, and one more door for attackers to try.

The right to use Azure Virtual Desktop is included with Microsoft 365 Business Premium, but the infrastructure is not. Microsoft lists Business Premium among the licences that grant access to Azure Virtual Desktop for your own staff (Microsoft Learn, 2026). You pay separately for the Azure virtual machines and storage that run the desktops.
Microsoft bills virtual desktops separately from our managed IT service. For Azure Virtual Desktop, your Azure usage depends on how many users share each machine and how many hours the machines run. We shut machines down after hours and review your usage with you, so the bill matches what your team needs. Windows 365 Business plans have a fixed monthly price per user, listed on Microsoft Canada.

Yes. Contractors connect from their own Mac, PC or iPad, and company data stays in the virtual desktop. We control what can be copied, saved or printed outside the session, and the connecting device is checked before access is granted. Contractors still need eligible Microsoft licensing, which we confirm during planning.
Yes. Some businesses keep a local file server for very large files or keep point-of-sale systems on site while moving accounting software and other applications to Azure. We connect the two securely so staff work across both without thinking about where each system lives.
Your data remains fully accessible and exportable. Azure doesn’t lock your data in proprietary formats. Files are standard formats, databases are standard SQL, and virtual machines can be converted to other platforms.
We provide clear migration-out procedures and help retrieve all data if you decide to move to different infrastructure. This is fundamentally different from consumer cloud services that make data export difficult.
For 5 to 10 users with a straightforward set of applications, the move typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. Retiring several on-premises servers with multiple applications takes 6 to 10 weeks. Timelines depend on data volume, application complexity, testing, and your team’s availability to validate each step.
